LAHORE: The Organized Crime Unit (OCU) Model Town team, led by their DIG Imran Kishwar, called on CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana at his office.
The CCPO commended DSP Ch. Faisal Sharif and his team members for their exceptional efforts to nab criminals. The team was awarded certificates of appreciation and cash prizes in recognition of their hard work. Those receiving the awards included Inspector Imran Yousaf, Malik Hussain Ali, Shahid Hussain, Sub-Inspector Shabbir Hussain, Nadeem Abbas, Afzal Ahmed ASI, Naeem Asghar, Abdul Ahad, Rashid (Ghazi), Head Constables Mohammad Jahangir, Liaquat Ali, Constables Adnan and Qaiser.
The OCU Model Town team successfully solved several high-profile cases in 2024. Under DSP Ch. Faisal Sharif, the team apprehended the murderer of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, Arslan from Shafiaqabad. The killer had thrown the child’s body into a drain. Using modern technology and human intelligence, the OCU team also traced and arrested terrorist Faizan Butt involved in the serial killings of police officers. Similarly, Farhan Asif, responsible for spreading fake news that caused riots abroad was traced and arrested within 48 hours.
The OCU also arrested TikToker Sara Khan allegedly linked with a controversial incident at a private College with the help of advanced IT technology. The team successfully apprehended two shooters Azhar Butt and Ilyas from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who were involved in the murder of Teefi Butt’s brother-in-law, Javed Butt.
In another operation, the team traced and arrested the Shoaib Gang involved in the robbery at the home of martyred Maj Ahmed Khan Tiwana, recovering Rs.70 million from the arrested suspects. The team also arrested Asad alias Jila, involved in bank robberies, along with Danish Masih, Vishal Masih and Cheeko Masih who were involved in multiple thefts.
Additionally, hired killers Azam Khan and Badshah Khan as well as sharp shooters and robbers Azam, were quickly apprehended by the OCU.
The CCPO praised the OCU Model Town team’s performance and encouraged them to continue their diligent work. Organized Crime Unit plays a pivotal role in eliminating organized crime. Bilal Siddique Kamyana further stated that hardworking and capable policemen are an invaluable asset to the department, urging all police officers and personnel to embody competence, professionalism and a strong sense of public service.
