LAHORE: Due to the smog in Punjab including Lahore, the air quality index has reached a dangerous level.
In the month of October, 19 lakh 533 patients of respiratory and asthma arrived at the hospital from all over the province
The Punjab Government has imposed a health emergency in Lahore and Multan, schools will remain closed for another week, OPDs in hospitals have been extended to 8 pm.
Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that there is no ban on wedding ceremonies during smog, but outdoor weddings should be avoided.
Staff holidays in health desks and hospitals have been canceled and departments have been instructed to stock medicines while citizens do not go out on bikes except in emergencies and use masks.
Schools will remain closed for another week due to smog, online classes will be held in colleges and universities, restaurants will be allowed till 4 pm. Take away food from restaurants will be allowed till 8 pm
“We are giving a 10 year policy to prevent smog,” <span;>he added.
