Lahore: People Student’s Federation (PSF) has organized a Convention in Punjab University.
President of PSF Punjab University Mehtab Soomro and the cabinet took oath. Addressing the convention, PPP leader Faisal Mir said that PSF is the power of students. Patronage of student organizations and revival of student unions is necessary to bring new blood into politics. He said that it has been 23 years since the student union elections have been banned. Due to which the debate on political ideas has ended. He stressed that all the students should support PSF for the revival of the students’ union.
President PSF Mehtab Soomro said that the People’s Party fought the Zia dictatorship, but unfortunately the division of the society on linguistic, regional, religious and communal lines was started during the Zia-ul-Haq era. He said that even today good politicians are those who participated in student politics. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the hope and young leader of this country.
A large number of female students also participated in the convention. Renowned singer Sahir Ali Baga’s performance in the convention captivated the audience. The drama ‘Bhutto Kahani’ based on the struggle of the Bhutto family for democratic and human rights was also presented in the convention to highlight the services of the People’s Party. Representatives of other student organizations also participated in the convention.
