LAHORE: Echoing the dangerous situation of smog in the Punjab Assembly, Speaker Punjab Assembly has called a special meeting on Wednesday to review the safety measures to control the smog.

In the session presided over by Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, after question interval, the smog situation in Punjab and especially Lahore was declared as very alarming. Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that the smog situation cannot be ignored. Currently, the air pollution in Lahore and its suburbs has reached a dangerous level, the speaker while giving a ruling announced that there will be a special session of the Punjab Assembly on smog
In the meeting, the minority members belonging to the government filed a pile of complaints against the provincial minister for minority affairs. The Speaker also termed Ramesh Singh Arora’s answers as unsatisfactory.
In the meeting, government member Noor Alamin watto introduced The Lahore Leeds University Amendment Bill 2024 in the House, while The Saint Hill University Bill 2024 and The Institute of Southern Punjab Multan Amendment Bill 2024 were approved.
After completing the agenda, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan adjourned the meeting till 11 am on Wednesday.
