LAHORE: In a ceremony commemorating the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, the Finance Minister of Punjab represented Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, extending the government’s warmest congratulations to the Turkish people.

The celebration, hosted by the Turkish Consulate, emphasized the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye.
The Finance Minister, addressing the esteemed Acting Consul General, dignitaries, and distinguished guests, praised Türkiye’s resilience, unity, and vision that continue to inspire. In his opening remarks, he paid homage to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for a modern Türkiye, celebrating the country’s journey and its remarkable progress.
Highlighting the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, the Finance Minister stated, “Our gathering here today underscores the strong bond between Pakistan and Türkiye—a relationship rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and enduring cultural ties.” The Minister further noted that Punjab has been particularly fortunate to benefit from Turkish investments in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and public services, which stand as a testament to the friendship and mutual growth between the two nations.
Educational collaboration was a key focus of the Minister’s speech. He acknowledged the contributions of the Türkiye Maarif Foundation, which has enriched Punjab’s educational landscape and fostered closer connections between the youth of both regions. “These partnerships not only empower our communities but also strengthen the cultural and educational ties between our people,” he remarked.
The Finance Minister also expressed appreciation for the humanitarian and development efforts spearheaded by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) across Punjab. TİKA’s projects have significantly impacted the lives of the people, contributing to sustainable development and a brighter future for the province.
Concluding his speech, the Finance Minister conveyed Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s heartfelt congratulations to the Turkish people on their Republic Day, extending wishes for Türkiye’s continued prosperity and progress. He added, “Together, let us strengthen the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye, a partnership built on solidarity and shared aspirations.”
The event was a testament to the steadfast bond between Pakistan and Türkiye and reaffirmed a commitment to continued cooperation in education, economic development, and humanitarian efforts. The Chief Minister and the Government of Punjab look forward to further strengthening this friendship for the mutual benefit of both regions.
