LAHORE: The resolution in favour of the 26th constitutional amendment has been passed by the Punjab Assembly, while the opposition boycotted it in protest.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto for approving the constitutional amendment.
According to the resolution, the Constitution of Pakistan is a sacred document which was unanimously approved in 1973. The stronger and more reliable the state institutions are, the more the country will be powerful. The separation of powers of the legislature, administration and judiciary is the responsibility of each institution. This amendment paved the way for the delivery of judicial reforms.
The political leadership of Pakistan pays tribute to the parliament for passing the historic amendment.
These amendments will lead to the end of Pakistan’s radiant democratic permanent political unity and political chaos.
Through this amendment, the agenda of the Charter of Democracy was completed.
Talking about the oppostions’s claim, Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman said the opposition members were saying that the constitutional amendment was approved without opposition while members of the Parliamentary Committee which was formed in the National Assembly for constitutional amendment continued to join the meetings and also gave their opinion.
