LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reconstituted the Regional Integrity Committee, appointing Mian Abuzar Shad, President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), as vice chairman.
This decision explains the growing involvement of business leaders in addressing tax-related matters and ensuring integrity within the system.

The reconstitution was formalized in a letter issued by the Secretary General of LCCI, citing the value of ensuring representation from the business community in tax governance. Mian Abuzar Shad’s appointment as Vice Chairman reflects his viral role in advocating for fair and transparent tax policies, especially for traders and industrialists across Lahore.
The reformed committee, headed by the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Corporate Tax Office, Lahore, includes members such as Shahbaz Siddique, President of the Tax Bar Association, and several high-ranking officials from the Inland Revenue Service, including Samia Ejaz, CIR, CTO Lahore, and Azhar Jehangir, Additional CIR, LTO Lahore.
Mian Abuzar Shad’s appointment is seen as a valuable step in bridging the gap between the tax authority and the business community. His leadership at LCCI has been instrumental in pushing for reforms to simplify tax procedures, reduce bureaucratic red tape, and ensure that voices of traders are heard.
The Regional Integrity Committee is tasked with addressing tax complaints and fostering ethical practices within the FBR. With Mian Abuzar Shad as Vice Chairman, there is hope that the committee will play a more active role in resolving issues faced by businesses and fostering greater trust between taxpayers and the FBR.
