LAHORE: The Collectorate of Customs Appraisement West, Lahore has collected Rs 5122 million in Customs Duties, achieving the assigned target of Rs 5069 million.
The performance is being considered as exceptional during the first quarter of the FY 2024-25, surpassing quarterly targets with remarkable figures.
Under the leadership of the Collector Beelam Ramzan, the Collectorate collected Rs5,122 million in customs duties, achieving the assigned target of Rs5,069 million, showcasing a robust and efficient operation.
The achievement is said to be result of persistent efforts to facilitate legitimate trade, while keeping the dwell time to the minimum and ensuring stringent controls against malpractices.
The Collectorate also detected 51 cases of misdeclaration, wherein contravention reports were framed and Rs 433 million were recovered in additional duty/taxes, fines and penalties. This achievement not only reflects the commitment of the Collectorate to excellence but also underscores the effectiveness of the strategies implemented to enhance customs operations.
The collector said the collectorate would continue its efforts to surpass assigned targets while ensuring the recovery of due taxes.
With a firm commitment to operational excellence, it will adopt a zero-tolerance policy against misdeclaration and other malpractices, promoting legitimate trade facilitation, she concluded.
