LAHORE: Lahore came first in the list of the most polluted cities in the world.

According to the Air Quality Index, the air quality of Lahore is harmful to health, while the air quality of Karachi is at a moderate level.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s campaign to make Punjab smog-free has been intensified.
In Layyia the kilns that emit toxic fumes and environmental pollution have been shut down.
In Sargodha district, raids were conducted on factories that spread toxic fumes by melting tires, 4 factories were sealed.
Around 10 kilns were also demolished in Layyia for violating the law.
The staff of the Environment Department along with the district administration conducted operations in Leyyia and Kasur
cases were also registered against those who violated the law.
A four-day campaign is underway in Layyia kilns that do not have environment-friendly zigzag technology will be demolished.
Only one kiln with zigzag technology was found during operation at Layyia.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said
said that by making Punjab smog-free and free from toxic fumes, both the environment and human life have to be saved.
