LAHORE (Our Correspondent) – Zafar Sadiq, Secretary General of the National Bank of Pakistan Pensioners Action Committee (Pakistan and Overseas) lauded the SC’s historic decision to ensure justice for retired pensioners and widows receiving family pensions from the bank.

In a recent statement, Sadiq highlighted that the SC on August 8, directed the bank’s administration to appoint a focal persons to remove any obstacle in the timely disbursement of pensions.
Sadiq emphasized that appointed focal persons must pay attention to crucial points, including the demands for the implementation of the 70 per cent pension formula.
He demanded that the pensioners should be paid pensions, gratuity and arrears in accordance with the set formula.
He further stated that employees who have served for 30 years should be granted pensions in line with the bank’s policy, with minimum increase of 20 per cent and a maximum of 10 per cent. He stressed that the arrears of these pensioners must be declared without delay.
In conclusion, Sadiq appealed to NBP president Rahmat Ali Hasni and Group Chief HRM Mirza Asim Baig to expedite the resolution of the pending pension cases for retirees.[:]
