LAHORE: Formation of Parliamentary Committee for Religious Minorities in Punjab Assembly has been announce for which speaker has issued a formal notification.
The Parliamentary Committee will work for the rights and welfare of religious minorities.
The Parliamentary Committee will work closely with the Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs.
Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora along with 11 other members in the committee including MPA Rahila Khadim Hussain.
Falbus Christopher, Qudsia Batul, Shazia Abid, Asifa Riaz, Uzma Kardar, Sonia Asher, Amjad Ali Javed, Emmanuel Ether. MPA Ijaz Masih and Shakeela Javed are involved.
The TORs of the Parliamentary Committee will be determined by the members themselves.
This committee will play a role in making the voice of religious minority members more effective in the assembly.
Ramesh Singh Arora has said he will work to solve the problems of religious minorities. This step will prove to be a good effort to protect minority rights. This initiative shows the seriousness of Punjab government for the betterment of religious minorities, he added.
