LAHORE: A meeting was organized with reference to Women Agricultural Workers Punjab under the auspices of Awaz Advocacy Forum.

Awaz CEO Ziaur Rahman said women in Punjab do not have the status of working in the fields. Women are paid less than men and there is no law for agricultural worker women .
There is currently a woman chief minister in Punjab. We hope that she will give legal status to women workers.
Home Net CEO Umme Laila said consensus are needed of agri workers women and legislation is must required to increase the wages of women workers.
Social Protection Authority MS Rehana said that they are providing health facilities to women workers. Under the Aghosh program, women are being given financial assistance and increased further in 12 districts.
There is a need to protect the workplace of women farm workers. It is necessary to unite and make laws. The first task is to declare these women workers, she concluded.[:]
