LAHORE: The Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari has said the services of women journalists of Pakistan are highly commendable, they showed their skills despite adverse conditions. The Punjab government will always stand with them to solve their problems.

She addressing the event organized by the National Women Journalist Forum and Women’s Rights Organization “WISE” on the topic of “Problems faced by women journalists, progress and their solutions” on this occasion.
Najaf President Farzana Chaudhary, Wise Executive Director Bushra Khaliq, Senior Vice Presidents Kanwal Naseem, Sidra Asim, Derakhshanda Alamdar and senior female journalists Fakhira Tahrim, Farah Hashmi, Rafia Naheed Ikram, Sadia Qureshi and Shahr Bano and others were also present
Addressing the event, Uzmi Bukhari said, “I am happy that women journalists have formed the first national organization of women journalists. It is a positive step that all women have come together.”
I am well aware of the problems that women face. Many people told me to shut up about my video. But I want this justice not for myself, but for all women.
Najaf President Farzana Chaudhary said that she requests Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to give priority to women journalists. Concrete measures should be taken for the problems and their solutions, including travel bus pass for women and health facilities and special quota for women journalists in schemes like Apna Ghar.
former MPA Kanwal Naseem said that timely payment of salaries to women journalists should be ensured so that practical journalism can be established and safeguards for women should be ensured so that more women can use their skills in the media.
Vice Executive Director Bushra Khaliq said that I congratulate the Najaf organization, which will always support the development and struggle of women journalists. Our organization is with Najaf at every step. We demand that we should be provided with travel facilities, scooters, laptops. Digital training programs should be organized for women journalists.
A large number of women including Tabinda Zahid, Nabila Akbar, Rabia Azmat, Ghulam Zahra, Mubashera Sultan, Iqra Mughal participated in the event.
