LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana and Commissioner Lahore Zaid Bin Maqsood chaired an important meeting of Lahore Division’s Peace Committee at Town Hall Lahore. The meeting focused on ensuring optimal security arrangements during the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram.
Installation of walk-through gates, metal detectors, CCTV cameras, lighting, patchwork and arrangements for expected rainfall were discussed during the meeting. Members of the Peace Committee, organizers of processions and license holders presented their suggestions to ensure peaceful arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
CCPO Lahore emphasized to provide top-notch security during processions and majalis throughout Muharram-ul-Haram, while addressing the meeting. He announced strict enforcement of SOPs issued by the Home Department, adding that unauthorized processions and gatherings will not be allowed at any location, other than designated routes and venues. He assured strict adherence to the Loudspeaker Act and timing restrictions for processions and majalis.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana highlighted the crucial role of religious scholars in maintaining peace, unity, and communal harmony. He urged religious scholars to play their role in promoting solidarity, peace and brotherhood. Commissioner Zaid Bin Maqsood stressed the importance of a positive role in establishing peace, emphasizing that mutual respect from the Mehrab-O-Mimber is the aim of distritc administration.
The organizers of processions and gatherings praised Lahore police and district administration’s efforts for ensuring peaceful arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
