LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party, Qamar Zaman Kaira, met Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan here today at Governor House Lahore. In the meeting, issues of mutual interest and the overall situation of the country was discussed in detail.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that stability in the country is related to democracy. He said that political stability in vital for boosting the economy of the country. Governor Punjab further said that promotion of higher education in remote areas of the country is his priority.
Senior leader of PPP Qamar Zaman Kaira congratulated the Punjab Governor on assuming the office. He said that Pakistan People’s Party has strived for the stability and development of country and welfare of the people. He said that every one should play positive role for political stability in the larger interest of the country.

Meanwhile, Director SOS Children Village Lahore, Almas Butt and Assistant Director Munazza Sheikh called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at Governor House Lahore. Governor Punjab gave a check of 01 million rupees to the resident children of SOS Children’s Village Lahore. It is pertinent to mention here that the Governor Punjab had announced a donation of one million rupees during his visit to SOS Children’s Village Lahore on the day of Eid-ul-Azha.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that it is our national duty to serve the destitute and orphan children. Governor Punjab said that Islam also teaches us to treat helpless children with compassion and love. He said that we should collectively contribute to make such children responsible citizens of the society. The Punjab Governor appreciated the administration of SOS Children Village for taking good care of such children.
He also expressed his determination to give scholarships to three children from SOS Children Village Lahore in Aitchison College from next year. He assured Director SOS Children Village Lahore, Almas Butt of his full cooperation for the welfare of the children living in SOS Children’s Village Lahore.
