LAHORE: Punjab Higher Education Commission’s campaign against religious hatred is ongoing in universities.

Under this campaign, a seminar was organized under the title of Blasphemy Law and Our Social Responsibilities in collaboration with Punjab Higher Education Commission and Lahore College for Women University.
Director Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr. Tanveer Qasim attended as special guest. Dr. Tanveer Qasim while addressing said that social media should be made the best tool for public welfare. Negative use of social media is causing distance from religion and moral deterioration.
Freedom can be recognized to the extent that the sentiments of others are not hurt. The media and people associated with it should play an active role in addressing obscene content on social media. Public awareness about the laws is also very important to solve this problem. Blasphemy content on social media should be reported immediately to the PTA, FIA or Ministry of Religious Affairs. Social media exaggeration, unnecessary exposure, distance from religion and neglect of parents has become a norm. Is. Institutions need to be empowered to prevent hateful content on social media. Along with digital infrastructure, internet monitoring and censorship technology firewalls are also essential.Chairperson of the Department of Islamic Studies Dr. Zahida Shabnam said that PHEC’s anti-religious hatred campaign in universities is commendable. We have lost our values in the world due to neglecting the correct teachings of Quran and Sunnah.
