LAHORE: On the floor of the Punjab Assembly , Food Minister Bilal Yasin has made it clear that the government cannot purchase wheat in the current situation.
Opposition leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar said that due to the poor policy of the government, wheat procurement crisis has arisen.

“The interim government caused billions of losses to the exchequer by importing wheat and the government is unable to take action against those who damage the national exchequer.
The Punjab Assembly session started with a delay of two hours and thirty minutes.
Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin told the House the government wanted to buy wheat from the farmers when the farmer did not have wheat and this time the government cannot spend billions of rupees to benefit the middleman.
Opposition members strongly criticised the government on the wheat procurement crisis.
Opposition leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar said that the Punjab government had killed the farmers economically by not purchasing wheat. The treasury has been injected with Rs11. 37 billion by importing wheat.
In the session of the Punjab Assembly, the opposition and government members expressed concern over the law and order situation and demanded that the government should take steps to maintain law and order.
After the agenda of the meeting was completed, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan adjourned the session.
